Prospective Students: Master of Public Administration

Program Overview

Designed with the working professional in mind, the Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the FIU Broward Pines Center offers an accelerated and innovative program that capitalizes on the experiences of its participants. Every individual in the MPA program has something valuable to bring to the curriculum that will resonate beyond the classroom walls.

The MPA can be completed in approximately 18-months following the recommended sequence of classes for five consecutive semesters. Each semester three courses will be offered at the Broward Pines Center. Two of the courses meet for 10-weeks simultaneously, one course meets on Friday evenings (5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and a second course meets on Saturdays (9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.). Once the 10-week classes have finished, a third course lasting 5-weeks meets on both Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Unique to the MPA at the Broward Pines Center are the two specializations in Homeland Security & Emergency Management, and Community Development. These specializations are available as stand-alone graduate certificates that can be completed in 12 to 18 months depending upon the semester in which a student starts the certificate.
